Microwave Heating

High-frequency electromagnetic energy for targeted thermal processes with high energy efficiency.

Our experience with microwaves stems from a solid scientific foundation: physicists and engineers work side by side to design, simulate, and validate tailor-made systems, transforming a complex physical principle into an effective and replicable solution. This is how we harness invisible waves to shape concrete innovations.

What is microwave heating?

Microwave heating is a technology that uses high-frequency electromagnetic energy to generate heat directly inside the heated body.

Unlike conventional systems, in which heat is transferred from an external source, microwave technologies work by activating heat sources within the material itself through a process called dielectric heating: polar molecules, such as those in water, oscillate rapidly under the effect of the electromagnetic field, generating heat through internal friction. This allows for rapid and selective heating, with high energy efficiency and precise process control.

Thanks to its ability to penetrate dielectric materials and heat them in a targeted manner, microwave heating is ideal for applications in the food, biomedical, and advanced materials sectors, and in all contexts where thermal precision is a critical factor.

Invisible energy, guaranteed safety

Despite often being the subject of doubts or misperceptions, microwaves are a safe, widely studied, and regulated technology that leaves no residual traces in treated objects, foods, or materials.

The frequencies used are standardized by international regulations, as are all component and testing requirements, in order to ensure electromagnetic compatibility and protect the health of workers and users.

Areas of application for microwave heating

Microwave heating is effective on dielectric materials, i.e. materials containing polar molecules capable of interacting with the electromagnetic field, such as water, polymers, technical ceramics and certain composite materials. This technology is ideal for processes requiring rapid, uniform and localised heating, and is widely used in various sectors.

The versatility of microwaves allows them to be adapted to a wide range of requirements, making them an effective solution in contexts where thermal precision, energy efficiency and treatment quality are critical factors.

Electrothermal technologies for pharmaceutical granulation: new possibilities for machinery and processes

Microwave, radio frequency and induction are the electrothermal technologies that can offer new prospects for energy transfer and control in pharmaceutical granulation processes, particularly in those stages where heat input is integral to the process, such as drying, conditioning and melting. For companies that develop production lines and machinery, this opens up real opportunities to make the granulation process faster, more controllable and more efficient.
