Infrared Heating

High-efficiency surface heating for fast times, localised control and no contact with the material.

Every infrared heating application requires the right balance between power, wavelength and distance. That is why we take a scientific and experimental approach, supported by thermal simulations and laboratory tests, in order to identify the optimal configuration for each process and market sector.

What is infrared heating?

Infrared heating is based on the emission of electromagnetic waves in the infrared region of the spectrum, usually between 0.7 and 10 micrometres, which transfer heat to the surface of the materials affected. The physical principle is the same as solar heat: radiation is absorbed by the heated body and converted into thermal energy.

The amount and speed of heating depend on the wavelength emitted, the distance from the source, and the surface properties of the material (colour, roughness, absorption). It is a non-contact technology, extremely responsive and easily integrated into existing production lines.

Precision and speed on the surface

Infrared heating is the ideal choice when rapid and precise action is required on the surface of a material, without transferring heat deep into it.

Thanks to its almost instantaneous responsiveness, this technology is perfect for intermittent or cyclical processes that require frequent switching on and off.

Furthermore, as it is a non-contact technology, it is suitable for contexts that require high hygiene standards or involve sensitive materials, such as films, paints, fabrics or thin polymers.

Beyond generative AI: how Machine Learning enters industrial processes

Machine learning enables production data to be transformed into useful information for recognising defects, identifying anomalies and adjusting the process. Supervised learning, unsupervised learning and reinforcement learning offer different possibilities depending on the objectives and the data available. Integrating them requires combining algorithmic expertise with an understanding of physical phenomena in order to meet the plant’s specific needs.

Electrothermal technologies for pharmaceutical granulation: new possibilities for machinery and processes

Microwave, radio frequency and induction are the electrothermal technologies that can offer new prospects for energy transfer and control in pharmaceutical granulation processes, particularly in those stages where heat input is integral to the process, such as drying, conditioning and melting. For companies that develop production lines and machinery, this opens up real opportunities to make the granulation process faster, more controllable and more efficient.
