Induction Heating

Precision and responsiveness for localised, contactless, high-efficiency heating.

The effectiveness of induction heating stems from its ability to combine precision and responsiveness. At inovaLab, we have mastered this technology both theoretically and experimentally, designing systems capable of providing targeted, efficient and repeatable heating in complex production contexts.

What is induction heating?

Induction heating is an electromagnetic technology that generates heat directly within electrically conductive materials, thanks to the action of alternating magnetic fields.

When a material is exposed to these fields, eddy currents are induced which, encountering the resistance of the material itself, produce heat through the Joule effect. In ferromagnetic materials, magnetic hysteresis losses make an additional contribution to heating, making it even more efficient.

Efficiency and control without contact

It is an extremely responsive, precise and contact-free process that allows for accurate adjustment of the amount of energy transferred, the depth of penetration and the thermal distribution, adapting to complex geometries or localised requirements.

Induction thus offers advanced control of heat treatment, reducing process times and energy losses.

Areas of application for induction heating

Thanks to its ability to generate heat selectively, quickly and in a controlled manner, induction heating technology is used in various sectors. Induction is also widely used in the domestic sphere: a concrete example of this is the widespread use of induction hobs, where heat is generated directly in the pan, improving safety, efficiency and cleanliness.

This versatility makes the technology suitable for all contexts where clean, precise heating that can be integrated into existing processes is required.

ARTE: our induction technology for smarter cooking

ARTE (Automatic Recognition + Temperature Estimation) is an advanced technology developed and patented by Inovalab to make induction systems smarter, more accurate and more autonomous.

Designed for induction hobs, the technology integrates a contactless sensor that detects the temperature of pots and pans in real time and, using physical models and machine learning algorithms, is able to recognise the container in use, dynamically adjust the power and ensure precise control, uniform cooking and optimised energy consumption.

This solution paves the way for new possibilities beyond the domestic sphere, offering an intelligent control system that can be applied to any process based on induction heating, where precision, efficiency and autonomy are required.

Electrothermal technologies for pharmaceutical granulation: new possibilities for machinery and processes

Microwave, radio frequency and induction are the electrothermal technologies that can offer new prospects for energy transfer and control in pharmaceutical granulation processes, particularly in those stages where heat input is integral to the process, such as drying, conditioning and melting. For companies that develop production lines and machinery, this opens up real opportunities to make the granulation process faster, more controllable and more efficient.
